I always heard people saying the above statement growing up,
but I thought it meant people loved Chevy so much that they would rather have
one that didn’t work than a Ford that did work. But after seeing this ignition
switch snafu and the way Chevy has mishandled the whole thing, leading to
deaths, now I think all along maybe people who said: “I’d rather push a Chevy
than drive a Ford” meant that they loved Chevrolet, but they recognized Chevys
weren’t safe enough to drive, so just to be safe, they pushed them rather than drive them.
