Taliban Dog Hostage

Wow, the Taliban have captured a US service dog. And I know we love our dogs, but what, do they really think this dog is part of the American hegemony? Are they going to re-educate it in the ways of terrorism to bite everyone in an attempt to sow fear in Americans about the trustworthiness of dogs?

Or maybe they have a more insidious agenda? Perhaps they will make a video threatening to do the unmentionable? Like, for instance, they will not allow the dog to play with a squeaky toy? Or maybe they won’t use Advantage, so they dog will get fleas and ticks, and then so will American troops when they get the dog back? Or maybe they will feed the dog substandard dog food that will fail to brush the plaque and tartar off the dog’s teeth, leaving it requiring canine dentures and a life of goopy denture adhesive to look forward to: surely a fate worse than death!

Yes, I love dogs too, and our service dogs as well. But it’s not like it’s a person. If they’re nice to it, and feed it, it will like them too. It’s just the fact that they know recent polling of Americans suggest most of us would save a dog before another person that gives them a weapon to use against us here, but it only works because our stupid propaganda news agencies fall for it.
