Laphroaig Bicentennial
Laphroiag, the smokiest, peetiest Scotch I’ve ever had, was established in 1815. As such it is their bicentennial, and I haven’t seen any ads based upon this fact. I’m surprised they’re not playing it up a bit, but maybe they don’t need advertising. Their Scotch Whisky is absolutely terrific, so it likely sells itself through word-of-mouth. (That’s how I heard about it.) But still, I think they should play up their bicentennial, since the 200-year mark is a pretty big deal, and at least issue some 200th Anniversary bottle for collectors, as a company’s bicentennial doesn’t come around every year. (Maybe they have, but I have not seen any.)
