A “star eater” eats too many planets along with the stars
and becomes constipated, adversely affecting the space/time continuum and
interrupting the motion of solar systems and the activity of creatures living
on planets within the galaxy. So a desperate mission is undertakes by a
government body of planets within the galaxy, and they deliver a dose of
(whatever brand of) laxative, launching it into the star-eating black hole to
end the constipation and get the galaxy’s quantum mechanics moving along again.
And after the black hole has the laxative, it is able to move its bowels, and
it ejects material that becomes a new, neighboring galaxy.
