It is said that roads and bridges are “the life blood” of a
city, and you can see from the air why this expression came to be used, as cars
are like blood cells and the people (workers and customers) they deliver like
the oxygen coming into, and the carbon dioxide going out of, the lungs of the
human body, maintaining life.
But if the roadways and bridges and such are the life blood
of the city, what’s the urine stream of the city? Maybe it’s the subway? It
sure smells like urine, so it must be.
