This ad for Friskies cat food makes the doubtful claim:
“Here at Friskies, cats are in charge of approving every new recipe.”
So, what do the cats do to reject a recipe, scratch and hiss
at the chef? Maybe they pee on their chairs and poop on their desk?
Oh, wait; maybe they simply don’t eat it, like most cats do
with most cat foods anyway. And I suppose to approve a recipe they eat it?
Maybe they’re just hungry enough to eat something after days of avoiding it.
I have found that cats tend to like Friskies okay, meaning
they’ll generally eat it. They especially like to lap up the goo that comes in
the can, but they’ll eat the rest of it when they’re hungry. Most cats seem to
go crazy for cat treats, however.
This is a cute ad, but I have to wonder how much input the
cats actually get in the recipe process. Cat approval of Friskies recipes
sounds about as true of an advertising claim as cats asking for Meow Mix by
name.
