My sister has a bunch of cats, and one of them simply adores
butter. And that made me think that a fun ad for butter could involve a cat,
especially considering the popularity of cat videos.
So in this spot for butter, a cat would annoy its owners (a
couple) for some butter, and it would turn out that they’re out of butter, so
one suggests to the other the idea of trying margarine instead, since they have
plenty of that. And so margarine is given to the cat, but it sniffs it, looks
at the owners with great annoyance (as cats are wont to do), and walks away.
(Then, later, the couple finds “a present” from the cat in their bed. Just
kidding. But that really could happen in real life.) Then the announcer chimes
in that nothing can replace the creamy goodness of butter, and if margarine isn’t
even good enough for your cat, why would you
eat it when you can eat creamy, delicious, all-natural butter?
