There are lots of great movie car chases, from movies like The French Connection, Bullitt, The Bourne Identity, Vanishing
Point, Mad Max, etc., where cars
are sped all over the place and lots of disastrous-looking crashes occur. Well,
I thought it might be fun to show some of these famous car chases in PSAs to
discourage texting and driving, and we could see a reasonable part of the chase
sequence, where everyone is driving slowly at first, and then we could cut to
an insert shot inside the cars, and we see that the drivers pull out their
phones and start reading and texting while driving, and then we could see the
cars begin to drive wildly recklessly and then crash and burn. And then we’re
told that this is how dangerous it is to text and drive, and while it may look
awesome in the movies, there’s nothing fun about killing yourself or someone
else in a texting-related car accident.
