I understand that after the success of the remake of Evil Dead, there is a sequel in the works. Well, I hope it has a plot that breaks new ground. And based on all the ghost and demon hunting shows on TV over the past few years, don’t you think that should be added to the mix?
So here’s what I think the plot should be for the Evil Dead remake sequel:
It is a few months after the events of the remake, and rumors have started to swirl about the cabin being haunted by ghosts or demons or something, and so an intrepid band of ghost hunters go to the cabin with all their equipment to see if they can document the hauntings. And wouldn’t you know it, but once there, they awaken the evil dead spirits, and one of them is possessed, saying: “One by one we will take you!” and: “Join us! Join us!” But then, the ghost hunters all say: “Take us now! We want to join you!” at which point the evil dead spirits say: “Oh, lame: you’re ghost nerds. Never mind. It’s only fun for us if you don’t want to join us. You’ll probably just exploit us for some lame TV ghost documentary. Well, we won’t sign a release! We’re out of here.” And then the cabin is just a peaceful cabin in the woods again: the ghost hunters have inadvertently cleansed it permanently by scaring away the hauntings via overzealous fan interest. And then humanity learns how to exorcise such demonic spirits, and we see evil haunted houses across the land cleansed in a similar manner, ending their scourge one and for all. The End.
(Celebrities never seem to like being inundated by fans, and after all, the Evil Dead demonic spirits are total celebrities at this point, aren’t they? So why would they be any different?)
