I see it in everything from electronics packaging to food packaging: silica gel.
It says: “DO NOT EAT” on all the silica gel packages. Think
of how much ink that is for every packet of silica gel in the whole world. And,
wow, think of all the other materials that go into the package, like paper and
plastic.
If they would develop and make edible silica gel, they could save all of that ink
and material, helping the planet with sustainable packaging. Plus, if it were
edible, it would help fight hunger. (Without packages it could be the
consistency of tofu or fruit roll-ups.)
So how about it, guys: edible silica gel?
