Viagra, the Blue Pill (and “The Matrix”)

We all know that Viagra is a blue pill, thanks to their ads. And we also know that in the movie The Matrix, the blue pill is the one that keeps people ignorant to the computer-generated reality in which everyone lives. And so, sensing more people would want to know the truth and fight the computers, the generators of the matrix decided to advertise the blue pill as a miracle sex drug. And hence, everyone chose the blue pill, leaving the computers free to keep everyone stuck in the matrix.

Maybe Viagra could have a Matrix-themed ad, where Morpheus asks Neo to choose the red pill or the blue pill, and having seen the Viagra ads, naturally Neo chooses the blue pill and swallows it, leading Morpheus to cry: “No!” But then Neo gets a huge erection, and Morpheus decides maybe Neo made the right choice after all. And as they get it on, we hear Morpheus say, excitedly: “He is the one!”

(Sorry, I just saw some of The Matrix recently, and I couldn’t help but think of this.)
