I don’t know if they’ve ever done this (I can find no evidence
of it whatsoever), but how about a General Electric mascot called: “General
Electric”? He’d be like some heroic American military general who makes things happen
and makes things work together, and the slogan would be: “General Electric:
Leading the Charge.” (<Leading, because wires are often called ‘leads’, and
the Charge, as in an electrical charge.)
I’m guessing in this day and age, with the anti-military
sentiment, this ad mascot might not be the best idea, especially with Jeffrey
Immelt in charge, but I’m surprised they didn’t do it in the 1950s.
