In this joke/proposed ad for Nivea moisturizer, we see the
mummy, Imhotep, from the 1932 movie The
Mummy, successfully bring his love Ankhesenamon back to life. But before
doing so, she resists, saying that if she becomes a living mummy like him, her
skin will be all dried and cracked for all eternity. But Imhotep tells her it’s
not a problem nowadays, because Nivea moisturizing lotion works “like magic.”
And so she becomes a deathless living mummy, and she applies the Nivea to her
now desiccated, wrinkled face, and it becomes soft, supple, and youthful, just
like she was in life 3,700 years ago. And they both live happily forever after (being immortal undead mummies),
and the all-powerful mummies terrorize and enslave the world, and all thanks to
Nivea. (Okay, so maybe that last part about terrorizing the world wouldn’t help
sell so much Nivea; but that part before it should illustrate how well Nivea
works to heal and moisturize dry, cracked skin, don’t you think?)
