Pompeii MRI Scans
Recently I saw a TV documentary about the plaster figures cast from the victims of the Mount Vesuvius eruption at Pompeii being given MRI scans to see what scientists could discern from their bones and belongings, etc. I was expecting to be fascinated, but I was surprised when, after almost 2,000 years, the plaster figures came to life and said it was way too claustrophobic for them in the MRI machine, and could they please go back and be incinerated by lava again instead.
