In the upcoming Star Wars movies, I have heard that there is a young child that's very powerful force-wise, and agents of the dark side want to kill the child. And the child is not old enough yet to have fencing skills, so the Jedi make the kid a light saber jumprope.
The light saber jumprope is basically two light saber handles, and with a flexible light saber blade that connects between the two handles and swings around like a rope. The bladed is also adjustable length-wise so that it can extend to take out people who are farther away.
So the kid simply skips rope and slices up every bad guy who approaches. Plus, the spinning light saber loop deflects blaster lasers as they approach.
The only problem with the weapon is that occasionally the kid forgets it's a weapon and plays with it jumping rope anyway and slices everyone up be accident. But it's a small price to pay for saving the savior of the galaxy!
