We see middle class yuppie white collar job types getting mugged, assaulted and stabbed in an alley by a gang of toughs, hit by a cab and a bus, shot with a stray bullet, pushed in front of the subway, etc., and the announcer says: “You never know when your New York life could end. So make sure your family is protected in the event of your inevitable senseless, violent, untimely death.”
(This scenario would at least demonstrate why life insurance is necessary. But New York City is not nearly so dangerous; I am merely making a joke based upon its reputation.)
