My First Super Bowl Ad

In 2013, I wrote a proposed ad for Viagra (posted on this blog) where a man puts a Viagra pill in his car, causing it to grow into a limousine, because he had too many people to drive somewhere than would fit in his car. Imagine my surprise when I saw the Fiat 500x ad on the Super Bowl in 2015, and they used exactly the same concept: a Viagra pill goes into a car, and the car gets bigger.

Now, granted the ad is not for the same product, and I got neither credit nor pay for the commercial, but I wrote the concept before the ad agency did, and they used the same idea in an ad that ran during the Super Bowl. So despite the downside, I feel like I wrote an ad that played on TV during the Super Bowl: the biggest stage in advertising. And I don’t even work in advertising: I write this stuff for fun as a hobby. (But I’d love a creative ad job writing TV ads, which is why I really write them to begin with. So if you like my ads, please hire me.)

Here’s my original post, from 2013 (It’s in the second paragraph.):

And here’s the Fiat 500x Super Bowl ad from 2015 (The intro is really long, and is all setup, but the real concept is exactly the same as mine: Viagra pill goes into a car, and the car gets bigger. Only I think my limousine idea works a lot better than just a slightly sportier model of the same car. Plus, gas intakes have a little thing to prevent a pill from falling in, which is why I had the guy in my Viagra ad put the pill into the radiator.):
