It seems to me that most political ads are basically attacking the opponent personally all the time, rather than trying to win an argument of ideas, and the lower you can go, the better. So rather than get criticized for such an approach, why not capitalize on it by naming a political ad agency “Ad Hominem”? That way, everyone would know what they were getting when they hired them. And since everyone always seems to want to use this type of personal attack ad anyway, wouldn’t an agency named Ad Hominem get a lion’s share of the business automatically? It just seems like the right approach to me.
