On the news yesterday evening, I heard some woman say: “My heart goes out to them.” I don’t know what she was talking about, as I had just turned to the channel, but hearing that sentence by itself made me think it must be pretty gory when that happens. So does it come smashing through her sternum like that chest-burster alien from the movie Alien? And when her heart goes out to other people, what exactly is pumping her blood then? Does she die? Is she already undead? I’d just like to know how this whole thing works.
