I just wrote a piece about sequels for the movie When A Stranger Calls, and at the end I mentioned that I’m on the “Do Not Call” List. And that’s when it occurred to me that this would make a great commercial (or PSA, actually) for the “Do Not Call” List! The spot could show some woman getting harassing phone calls from telemarketers again and again, until she’s driven to her breaking point with frustration. So the next time the telephone rings, she looks at it and screams in terror. Then they freeze frame on the woman’s screaming face as she’s looking at the telephone, and the announcer says that to escape the horror of strangers calling you, you should join the “Do Not Call” List.
