The news people keep asking the leading, accusing question of whether Donald Trump’s rhetoric will hurt the United States with terrorist groups.
Um, I don’t know, nor do I care about the stupid, unfiltered Tourette’s crap that comes from Donald Trump’s mouth. He has freedom of speech guaranteed under the Constitution, so he can say what he wants to say: I don’t care. But I do know that the news channels misrepresenting what he says and exaggerating it into Hitler references and general alarmism for effect, and then repeating it all ad infinitum for days and weeks and months throughout the world will certainly have a far more harmful effect on our country than if they didn’t report on it. But they love to report it.
So who is really harming America? It’s the news propagandists and their biased, schlock journalism. They actually come right out and say that this stuff will harm America, and then they just repeat it and repeat it and repeat it day in and day out endlessly across the whole world. Shame, shame, shame on them!
You know, to me what is far more offensive than anything Donald Trump could ever possibly say is the fact that the news industry in this country is trying to get our free speech rights taken away, and if they can’t do that, bully with political correctness anyone who says anything they don’t like. What a bunch of jerks for trying to undermine one of the most fundamental human rights: the right to honestly express ourselves. That’s actually a civil rights violation to bully people into silence. Free speech is a civil right. Liberals used to be for civil rights like free speech. Now they’re against it. What happened? That is not real liberalism. I expect this from college students, who despite what I am sure are good intentions, have no idea what it’s like to live in a world where you’re not allowed to express yourself due to fears of reprisals from a repressive regime. But middle-aged news people should know better than that, and there is no excuse for their attempts to undermine freedom of speech and expression. Seriously, that completely betrays what this country was founded on, and what we stand for on the world stage. How can America encourage freedom of expression in repressive countries when our own news people are constantly trying to take our own free speech rights away?
I mean, people should definitely be civil and courteous and responsible, and Trump certainly is not being any of those things. But the news people go after private citizens and bully them with the weight of an international news organization whenever they hear something they disagree with, and that is not acceptable in my view. It is also not news to complain about so-called offensive comments, so why would they do it, except to try to intimidate everyone they disagree with into silence.

BTW: Jake Tapper asked Chris Christie today if it was appropriate for a presidential candidate to use the word: “schlonged” in a speech, as Donald Trump did recently. Um, is it appropriate for a major news anchor to use that term in the middle of the day during holiday break from school when kids might be watching? (What a damn propagandist hypocrite! If it’s not appropriate, then don’t cover it! Oh, but they can’t resist trying to smear Donald Trump, which only gives him more support, because I believe most Americans hate the partisan news propagandists even more than they hate any of the candidates. So if Donald Trump wins the election, and you’re unhappy about it, blame the media. Campbell Brown is right about that. But if she were still on CNN, I’d bet my bottom dollar she’d be covering the same Trump quote stuff she now criticizes.)
I was seriously disappointed that Chris Christie did not make my previous point and throw that appropriateness crap right back in Jake “The Fake” Tapper’s face. Chris Christie is usually pretty good at comebacks in this type of situation; in fact, it’s probably the only thing I actually like about him. But today, total fail, dude.
It’s funny to think that about ten or so years ago, CNN was probably the best television news organization in the world, and now they’re probably the worst. What the hell happened to them? It’s an absolute embarrassment and a disgrace to journalism what they have become lately.
