In this ad for US Bank, we see three executives watching
from their high-rise office windows as big lighted signs are being installed on
the tops of nearby skyscrapers. They say it looks like they have a lot of
competition, so one says: “I’m calling US Bank. Looks like we’re going to need
more capital.” And then we see the US Bank logo as one of the big lighted signs
on the top of a skyscraper, and I have to laugh, because I can’t help but think
US Bank needs more capital, since they have no capital letters in their logo.
Maybe their slogan can say that they have more capital for
their clients by having no capital letters in their logo. But I think perhaps
people will think they have more capital if they have more capital letters in
their logo. Don’t you think it’s a capital idea?
