This is a very loopy and fun ad, using Buzz Aldrin’s visit to the moon as an excuse to take off on a flight of fancy to plant flags on other planets. I do have to question, however, Jockey’s ability to get NASA back to prominence, or their ability to extend the duration of space missions. But nice try, and I like the silliness on display here.
I think the intro to this ad, however, referencing General Patton and Babe Ruth, goes a bit off course here, as it feels a bit arbitrary and distracting. Maybe they should do other ads for them specifically. But if they want to add others, maybe they could list some of the other greats who have worn Jockey at the end by saying: “Jockey also helped support these great men: (Great Man #1, Great Man #2, etc.).”
What would be fun also would be to show Buzz Aldrin punching some jerks who accuse him of being a fraud and claim the moon landing was a hoax, and have the announcer say that Jockey supports Buzz Aldrin even when others do not. (Buzz Aldrin is known to have done this before.*)
