Yes, there is a downside to killing our terrorist enemies: they might plot to attack us! I’m afraid it’s true: kill terrorists plotting to kill us, and terrorists might plot to kill us! Oh, no!
But weren’t they already trying to do that anyway? But I guess the difference is, this time they really mean it! They were going to kill us, but now they’re really going to kill us!
I mean, not that I’m not all terrorized and everything, but isn’t it kind of redundant to threaten us with revenge when they were already trying to kill us before? It just starts to seem like an empty threat after awhile, or at least the “revenge” part does. Or maybe they just wanted to remind us to be scared?
