A-Rod Suspension Shows How Un-American Baseball Has Become
A-Rod got caught doping, so he's going to have to serve a lengthy suspension. But this isn't the way we do things in America, now is it? If the Yankees were the United States government, the team would find a way to make this some rookie's fault, and he'd get bounced down to the minors for a couple of years while A-Rod got to keep his place on the team. And if this were big business, A-Rod would say he's too big to fail and the team would get a big bailout from the government, so long as the Yankees promised big political contributions later on. Yeah, I'm sorry to have to say it, but Baseball really doesn't seem so quintessentially American anymore. When powerful people get in trouble for their misdeeds, I don't even recognize this country anymore.
