Yes, it’s Dr. Who, M.D., P.C., the new medical
drama show about the only doctor in Whoville. Yes, Dr. Who went to medical
school at Who U. to study the usual medical doctor physician stuff, but as it
turns out, cartoon characters don’t have the usual medical problems, so he
furthered his education, becoming a psychiatrist. And what do you know, but no
sooner did he complete his degree and hang his shingle in Whoville, but that
nasty old Grinch stole all the kids’ Easter Eggs! Well, they were all upset, so
they went to see Dr. Who to be consoled, but just afterwards, that nasty old
Grinch stole all their birthday presents one-by-one. And so Dr. Who gets called
in to make them all feel better. Oh, but once he’s finished that task, that old
humbug the Grinch steals everyone’s Christmas presents (!). And so our titular
heroic character Dr. Who counsels all the children so that they feel all better
and overcome the trauma of losing all their presents: Yea, Dr. Who!
And so it was that Dr.
Who became the hero of Whoville, until that one day when the medical insurance
company called in to check his records, and what do you know but they accidentally
went to the wrong address, right to his home, rather than his office. And what
do you suppose they found there? Why, it was every Who’s presents in all of
Whoville! Why, Dr. Who had been running a scam all along, blaming the poor
hapless Grinch, who he’d killed long ago, wearing the Grinch’s fur as a
costume, so that all the children of Whoville might actually need a doctor for
something, which cartoon characters usually don’t, helping to heal all the trauma
he himself had caused. And that’s the story of Dr. Who and his crimes, of
stealing everyone’s presents time after time. And billing the insurance for it.
(<That was his big mistake! Lots of phony medical scams are coming to light
as the ACA {a.k.a.: Obamacare} begins implementation, and so this TV show would
be using this issue as a springboard to train everyone to spot healthcare fraud.)
