Alucard

Many horror movies use this backwards spelling of Dracula (Alucard) as a character name, often when Dracula is trying to remain incognito. It’s silly, but it has been used so often, I’d have to guess the screenwriters thought it was clever and cool. And if that’s the case, then it’s surprising that backwards spellings weren’t used for other horror movie characters just as frequently. Like, for instance, how come we never saw the following characters:

Dr. Nietsneknarf (Frankenstein backwards)
Count Utarefson (Nosferatu backwards)
Sir Flowerew (Werewolf backwards)
Mr. Namflow (Wolfman backwards)
Mr. Ymmum (Mummy backwards)

Wouldn’t horror movies have been even better with these memorable character names? No? Then please stop with the Alucard characters already! (You’d think Dracula would be smarter than that, wouldn’t you? Or maybe Dracula just thinks we’re too dense to figure it out.)
