Progressive Price Tag Free Zone Ad

An agent working with Flo at the imaginary Progressive Insurance office we keep seeing in ads gets a price tag stuck on his foot and then gets scrubbed down by people in Hazmat suits in this ridiculous ad for Progressive Insurance.

This is silly and all, but it just so happens to be airing coincidentally during the Ebola scare, and it runs the risk of looking like it’s ridiculing the Ebola crisis. Some people could get turned off to something like this, so if I were them, I would pull the ad for a little while, just because it mirrors a deadly epidemic’s treatment.

On the other hand, lots of other people might be tired of all the hyped up news coverage, and they might find this to be a fun twist on the grave reality: who knows? After all, I’m sure the ad creatives who dreamt up this fun spot were not even thinking of Ebola, so if people got upset by the ad, hopefully they’d see it’s just a coincidence. I’d just think a corporation might not want to take that chance.
