A Smoking Gun?
I keep hearing everyone talk about finding a smoking gun on scandals, crimes, etc. Well, how come it's always a smoking gun they're looking for, rather than a bloody knife, or a poisoned drink, or tampered-with brakes or something? How come guns always get the blame for everything? Even crimes that have nothing to do with guns have people looking for a smoking gun. Well, no wonder we never get to the bottom of so much malfeasance when we're always looking for smoking guns when it's really about who knew what when, who ordered this or that, who lied to Congress, and so forth. In fact, I'll bet this whole looking-for-smoking-guns thing is just a marketing ploy by the gun control lobby to always get everyone associating guns with blame for every crime and/or scandal. Why, Sean Hannity just tonight talked about a smoking gun in the IRS scandal; and I always thought he supported gun rights (!). Well, you just never can tell what a person's real motives are until they let the cat out of the bag and reveal that smoking gun, huh?
