Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, a guy who is always telling everyone
what to think, says he hopes he does not live past 75. And because of this, he
thinks you shouldn’t want to either. And I think this makes a great movie
premise!
It’s the Logan’s Run
remake we’ve all been waiting for, only this time people get to live until 75!
And for those who do not willingly enter the Carousel (the government-run
extermination facility) to ‘renew’, they’re forced into “running”, using
walkers, the Hurry Cane, speeding away in their Rascal Scooters, golf carts,
etc. And the Sandmen, chasing them on Segways, get protested when they try to
terminate a runner. Or, wait: Ezekiel Emanuel is a liberal, so I guess the
Sandmen won’t get protested. No wait; they will be protested: by conservatives
who are pro-life and oppose euthanasia.
It’s the most excitement-filled euthanasia debate metaphor
ever put on film, it’s Ezekiel Emanuel’s Logan’s
