This ad shows a series of vignettes of people shopping, playing drums, etc., with the text of Twitter tweets superimposed over the image, and with a picture of the Twitter birdie logo at the end of the text, so we know they’re tweets. (Then they say that American Express membership points are social currency, yadda yadda.) But in light of the recent Weinergate Twitter scandal, I find it almost impossible not to think of pictures of his penis, waxed flexing chest, etc., whenever I think about Twitter at the moment; and so given that this is standing out in the zeitgeist right now, shouldn’t they show vignettes of massage parlors, red light districts, the congressional assembly room, the sets of news programs, etc.? It sure would make a good joke version of this ad for a show like SNL, though.
