Yes, they finally released over 24,000 emails from Sarah Palin’s days as the governor of Alaska, and you just know we’ll hear about every single one! (Yay!) I just can’t wait to see the disappointed looks on all the news reporters’ faces when there’s nothing bad in them. It’s just a guess, but I’ll bet there’s nothing out of the ordinary or even interesting in the emails. But like I said, that’s just a guess.
I saw one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on the news today. This anchor on CNN was saying how their correspondent had just gotten copies of the emails, and they had live footage of this guy pulling this big cart with box after box after box stacked up on it, filled with the 24,000 emails printed out onto printer paper. So as he’s struggling to navigate this mass of files balanced on a cart down the sidewalk in the breeze, the anchor said the reporter will be back in an hour to report on what he finds (!). Really? An hour? For twenty-four thousand pages of emails? I hope he’s had a speed-reading class!
Frankly, I think it’s amazing and beyond silly for this to be a major news story right now. Sarah Palin isn’t running for any office, she’s not in any office anymore, and they’re treating this like it’s the biggest political story of the year! When has the press ever been so interested in the clerical records of a minor defunct politician who’s just tooling around with their family on a bus? It’s ridiculous! It’s like they feel it’s their sworn duty to find anything they can destroy her with, when she’s doing it quite well enough all on her own without any help from them, thank you very much! It’s just bizarre, but I guess they’re just obsessed with hatred for her, and they can’t help it. There’s just no other explanation for it. It’s a good thing there’s nothing important going on in the world that they could be/should be covering instead! I mean, I guess there isn’t, because between Weiner’s wiener and Palin’s emails, they’re not reporting anything else these days.
So Palin screws up the Paul Revere story a bit, and the entire news media screws up reporting the news completely! I don’t know about you, but I think the bigger jerks screwing things up the worst here are the journalists who are shirking their responsibilities to keep us informed with real news by endlessly chasing after Sarah Palin to waste air time on every little gaffe she makes. It’s not that interesting! And they’re covering up the real problems our country is facing when they do this crap! What immature jerks! They’re just like high school bullies, just trying to make one klutzy girl look dumb all the time. (And she doesn’t even need their help!)
So hooray for the tabloidization of the news! We don’t need to know any real news anyway: we’re America! And we’re #1, even if our news people are about as lame and low as you can get! Maybe next they can find out what Britney and Lindsay Lohan are up to! (Dorks!)
