Jon Stewart reminded me tonight that there was a New York Times article a couple of weeks ago that revealed the existence of a secret* "kill list" kept by President Obama for use in targeting terrorists for elimination. Apparently, President Obama has the final say for who goes on this list, and all he has to do is designate them a terrorist, and bam: they're toast. (!!!)
So this begs the question: If Mitt Romney surges in the polls, and it looks as if President Obama's chances for re-election are slim, could he simply designate Romney a terrorist and wipe him out with a drone strike? (Hey, it could happen! {<This is what is referred to as a "joke", as in I'm not serious, and it's particularly amusing, if at all, because it's so absurd.})
* BTW: It's not secret anymore. Or at least, I don't think so.
