Aflac Rehab Ads

Recently we’ve been seeing the cute ads of the Aflac duck mascot going through rehab after his recent “accident”. But do we really know it was an accident? Maybe some competing insurance company has been threatening and intimidating him! And maybe he injured himself on purpose to get into the secure confines of a hospital setting where he knows he’ll be safe; I mean, so long as he doesn’t get infected with an antibiotic-resistant superbug, that is. (Or maybe the avian flu?) Oh, but that would be insurance fraud (!), wouldn't it?

Well, we can’t have our insurance company mascots engaging in insurance fraud! What kind of a message would that send? Why, that could encourage others to commit insurance fraud, dooming the entire industry! But I think the duck is innocent of intent, anyway. It’s just that someone has been threatening him.

So, who might be threatening our heroic Aflac duck, and in what way? Well, please don’t tell anyone, but I think it might be the Geico gecko. And what he’s been doing is sending those dead ducks from the windows of Chinese restaurants to him, or else fish coated with duck feathers to say: “The duck swims with the fishes.” But don’t ducks swim anyway? Hmm, I guess it must be the former, then.

Here’s a previous Aflac ad where we see some medical resident making suggestive threats (He must be in on it with the gecko!):

And here’s the fun duck rehab ad:

But you know, some critics are even claiming that the Aflac duck isn’t even a real duck, but that he’s a computer-generated character created for propaganda purposes (!!). So then we couldn’t even eat him, and so this whole scenario is totally fake! Man, what kind of dishonest people would try to trick us into thinking the Aflac duck was real when he’s only imaginary? And does this mean that this company’s policies offer imaginary help too? Wow, the mind reels at such possibilities. (I mean, if we cannot even trust insurance advertising mascots, then who can we trust?)
