CNN reports today that North Korea has moved their missiles
back from imminent strike positions, most likely due to nobody paying any
attention to them. Yes, it seems the United States government and military have
too much pressing stuff at the moment to get involved at the moment. We’re not
hearing any details yet on this, but it has been assumed that Secretary of
State Kerry has simply told North Korea that while we’re all scared and
terrified and everything, we just don’t have the time to deal with a brink of
war scenario just now, so maybe we could reschedule for later in the year. You
know, we’ve got the Boston Bombing, the Syrian Civil War, the Israeli strike,
the fighting season in Afghanistan, etc. You know, we’re just busy at the
moment. So if we could simply get a rain check on the brink of war stuff, that
would be greatly appreciated, and we’ll agree to quake in our boots and wet our
pants extra lots the next time North Korea threatens a nuclear strike, just to
make it up to them for letting us put it off until we’re free. Because it’s not
that we don’t want to be all scared and stuff, it’s just that we have a lot of
stuff on our plate right now. And North Korea is nothing if not a very
considerate enemy for being understanding about us being too busy to fight with
them right now. Because thankfully they understand: it’s not them, it’s us: we’re
just not ready for that kind of a commitment yet, because we have a lot of baggage from all of our other international relationships.
