Data Mining and Politics
On The Colbert Report tonight, Stephen Colbert had a guy on to talk about how the campaigns use data mining to find out all about potential voters so they can target them to go out and vote for them. Well, that’s all interesting and everything, but what I really want to know is this: Will future political candidates brag about how their father was a poor data miner from a hardworking data mining town, just like they brag about their father being a coal miner today? Because that might make sense someday. (And, with their father knowing data mining so well, it might just give them an edge!)
