I was watching TCM, and they showed a trailer for The Man with the Golden Arm. Well, this movie is about a heroin addict, but what if Goldline made a fake movie trailer for The Man with the Golden Arm, and everybody was trying to be his friend because his arm was worth so much (because it’s made of gold)? Then the ad could say that you can be just as popular when you invest in gold! (And people will especially respect you if you make and arm out of it!) And if they bought the rights to use this movie for their ads, they could edit it such that it looked like Frank Sinatra was their spokesman!
And, come to think of it, how about a gold investment ad based on The Man with the Golden Gun? Then the ad could show how our titular villain gets beaten by James Bond, but he still manages to escape and live the high life way better than James Bond, and all because he invested in gold! (In fact, even his gun and bullets are gold, showing what a keen investor he is!) Surely that would attract the criminal underworld element to buy gold, right? Or would they just steal it from Goldline and put them out of business? Oh, well: I’m sure it doesn’t matter to them, so long as everyone gets the message that gold is a great investment, right? No?
