Storm chasers are the brave people who chase after awful weather to document it for us, and we can learn a lot about these storms, as well as get to look at lots of neat-o pictures and video from inside the proverbial eye of the storm, through their work. But as we saw in the Oklahoma City area twisters where some storm chasers were killed, there are actually a lot of storm chasers now (the news showed a map of how many there were all crammed in the same area), and so this field is already becoming bloated. But hey, how about other dangerous things?
Yes, apparently there are lots of scary new diseases popping up from time to time the world over, and so maybe these daredevil camera crews can run around the world chasing all the newest diseases! There's a new Arabian cough thingy that looks in pictures like a beautiful sunset, and apparently it's trying to kill us all, and as such, it's not really that different from dangerous weather. And then the disease chasers can chase and literally catch the new disease, and then they can bring it back for everyone else to experience and study. Think of how much we'll learn from first-hand experiences of all the hottest new diseases!
I'm sorry if it doesn't sound all that attractive, but we've already got war chasers (news reporters), famine chasers (humanitarian organizations), atrocity chasers (human rights groups), and scary animal chasers (nature documentarians), so I'm afraid there are only so many things left.
