The new advertising tagline for Bacardi Rum is: “Bacardi: Untamable Since 1862”. But they don’t bear this claim out in the new ads, at least not as far as the rum is concerned. If they want to show us how untamable Bacardi is, they ought to show us ads in which college students attempt to tame the Bacardi, and all the resulting vomiting and hangovers. Then we’d see they were telling the truth about how untamable Bacardi really is!
Then, as an accompanying promotion, they could have “Tame the Bacardi” contests, where people try to tame the Bacardi by drinking it, sort of like those enormous hamburger challenges some restaurants have for customers. And whoever could drink whatever amount (like maybe a fifth) in the allotted time, they could get free Bacardi for life! (If they ever wanted to see Bacardi again after the challenge, that is.) Hey, what could possibly go wrong?
