Putting an end to
bullying is a very hot topic these days, and so what better way to teach
children a lesson about why bullying is bad than to make an animated movie
about it? And since everyone’s heard of “the bully pulpit”, why not use this as
the bully of the movie? And so the movie would be about a school for pulpits,
where they learn how to be good pulpits for preaching, and after school they
get hired as the pulpits for churches and such. Oh, but the bully pulpit of the
title is always bullying all the other pulpits, and making them all miserable.
And so word spreads about what a nasty bully this one particular pulpit is, and
so aside from never being asked to any of the other pulpits’ birthday parties
and such, when school is over, nobody wants to hire this bully of a pulpit. And
so alone and unwanted, the bully pulpit is chopped up for firewood. Oh, if only
it hadn’t been such a bully: then everyone would have wanted it! And surely this will teach children that they
shouldn’t be bullies, or else they will be unwanted too. (And maybe even chopped up
into pieces and burned. You never know!)
