When I was a kid, Prudential’s slogan was: “Get a piece of
the rock.” But we never saw the perfect imagery to match this slogan. Since
Prudential’s logo is still the Rock of Gibraltar, I think they should show
someone climbing the Rock of Gibraltar, when a boulder-sized rock breaks loose,
striking them, knocking them off the face of the rock, and then landing on top
of them when they hit the ground like Wile E. Coyote. And this image would show
how necessary life insurance is: If you die, how will your family be provided
for?
But they never did do it. But if you don’t show someone
being killed, and their family coldly thrown out of their home by Scrooge type
mortgage lenders, how are we even supposed to know why we need life insurance?
Wow, I went to find an old Prudential ad, and here’s one I
had never seen that’s not only funny, it also shows someone’s house damaged by
a big rock (!). So they did do something like I’m joking about after all
(Although like I’m joking about, getting a piece of the rock may not be such a
good thing after all, seeing as how a piece of a rock damaged their roof and
destroyed their piano!):
