Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Obamacare Ad

The Obamacare rollout has been a complete fiasco, regardless of what your political affiliation is, so my guess is that we’re going to see plenty of political ads calling for either fixing it or eliminating it pretty soon. And if you ask me, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is the perfect analogy for Obamacare, because Dr. Jekyll was a benevolent man who was making an earnest attempt to find a way to help mankind be more just, kind, and humane, but the experiment had some rather nasty unintended consequences that ended up being extremely destructive instead of helpful. Sadly, such is the case thus far with Obamacare, with many people losing their insurance, and new health insurance plans costing a lot more, and the website not even working after three years and $300 Million, leading many people to wonder how the government is going to hope to run this extremely complex program when they can’t even do the easy part right with so much time and money. (Nothing personal, but my premiums have doubled, and with the economy in the crapper, I cannot imagine how anyone will be able to afford this right now.)

So here’s how this anti-Obamacare ad would work: We’d see Dr. Jekyll, a contemporary benevolent doctor in a white lab coat seeing patients at the hospital. And then the announcer says: “Obamacare is a lot like Dr. Jekyll: It meant well, trying to help humanity. But sadly, something went wrong along the way, and it’s hurting people instead.” Then we’d see Dr. Jekyll drink a beaker of smoking liquid labelled “Obamacare” and transform into Mr. Hyde, at which point he’d start rampaging around the hospital attacking patients, doctors, and hospital staff. Then the announcer would say: “Please call Congress and ask them to stop the Mr. Hyde Obamacare has become from hurting more people. Delay and fix or defund Obamacare today.”
