Hampton Inn has been running ads lately with the slogan: “Feel the Hamptonality”. But seeing as how they are named after (or similar to) an extremely desirable upscale vacation destination, the Hamptons on Long Island, New York, it seems almost wasteful not to take advantage of this name with a slogan more like: “You’ve Got a Home in the Hamptons”. See what I mean? It makes it seem more like an exclusive club than a hotel chain. And since Hampton Inn is geared towards businesspeople, this might work better as a slogan, since I’d be willing to bet they’d all love to have a home in the Hamptons.
Now, I could see someone saying that the hotel is called Hampton Inn, so saying the Hamptons doesn’t work; but I would point out that Hampton Inn has multiple locations, and by saying “You’ve Got a Home in the Hamptons”, that indicates that you’ll feel at home at Hampton Inn at every last one of their locations. So no matter where you are, you will be right at home at Hampton Inn. And that seems inviting to me.
