I used to joke about how I had tried to start a kids’
fashion company called “Hi, Cat”, and that it was totally different from Hello
Kitty because “Hi” is informal, while “Hello” is formal, and a Cat is an adult
feline, while a kitty is a baby cat, so it’s totally different.
But, hey: a puppy and a kitty are not even the same genus,
so how could anyone possibly claim that Hello Puppy is too similar to Hello
Kitty? Plus, with a brand called Hello Puppy to compete with Hello Kitty, all
the little school kids could fight all the time about which are better: kitties
or puppies. And then every day in kindergarten, all the dog people and cat
people could have grudge match brawls over which type of pet is better, and the
vendetta could last throughout their whole lives, leading to all kinds of
relationship and career consequences. And all because of the new children’s
fashion brand Hello Puppy! (Doesn’t it make you want to buy it for your child?)
Now we just need a Hello Goldfish brand, and kids can fight
over all the most popular children’s pets! (Or do we also need a Hello Hamster,
Hello Turtle, Hello Bunny, Hello Pet Rock, Hello Sea Monkey, etc.?)
