That’s the TBS slogan: “TBS: Very Funny.” But is it really
true? It is sometimes very funny when Conan
is on, but the rest of the time it’s really more like moderately amusing. But
how to turn that attempt at truth in advertising into a big slogan and graphic
that will be memorable? Well, on the cable movie channels, they have little
movie ratings that say things like: TV MA (For “Television: Mature Audience”),
and so I thought: “Hey, why not use that for the TBS slogan/logo?” It could say:
“TBS: TV MA: Television that’s Moderately Amusing.” (What else can you say
about a network that’s main staple is sitcom reruns?)
