Kill Switch for Exported Military Armaments?
It seems to me that every time we (the United States of America, that is) give weaponry to another country or group, it ends up being used against us at some point. (ISIS is a good example of what I’m talking about: they captured lots of tanks and armored personnel carriers and stuff from the Iraqi army after we gave it to them.) So with the technology available to us at this point in human history wouldn’t it be a good idea to have a remote kill switch or self destruct mechanism installed in everything we give away so that if it falls into the wrong hands, or if the people we give it to turn against us, we can just destroy it with the touch of a button? I mean, isn’t it the only thing that makes any sense? (They don’t have to know about it until we use it and destroy the weapons. Or would that be cheating?)
