Charles Schwab Fireworks Ad

We open with the quote: “Imagine how you would feel if you found 200, 300, or even 2,500 dollars: that could really brighten your day.” And then we see this shower of sparkles raining down over a man sitting at a desk in some luxurious high-rise office. And then we see fireworks going off in the sky out the office window behind the man. And then we realize that this shower of sparkles is actually hot burning cinders, and that someone is trying to burn this man to death and make it look like an accident (!).

Help, help: call the fire department, quick! But, sadly, because the man’s office is on the top floor, it’s too difficult and too late to get to him, and his office sparks off The Towering Inferno. (Maybe Charles Schwab is sponsoring a remake?)

Well, at least we can’t say they didn’t warn us of their fire hazard service, as they clearly state in this commercial: “Your whole world could light up!” So get a fire extinguisher, quick, before it’s too late! (I wonder if they’re burning this guy’s office down so they can keep all his money?)

Maybe next time Charles Schwab customers should consider celebrating in a safer way, like maybe with ice cream and cake? (Oh, but then there’s the obesity epidemic…)

Here’s the interest-sparking spot:
