The Bluebeard of Happiness

This villainous wretch enjoys misery, and being miserable, so much, that in order to maintain his level of misery, whenever anything starts to make him feel happiness, he kills it, and stashes it away in a secret room in his mansion/castle.

And then, if anyone starts to make him happy, he kills everything they care about, and then he kills them, and puts them together with all their dead happy stuff in yet another secret room in his creepy mansion/castle, which is very large, with many rooms, and has plenty of space for a quite extensive collection.

It is an interesting but little-known fact that the use of the color blue in relation to sadness actually comes from the Bluebeard of Happiness.
