We’ve been hearing a lot about the situation in Iraq lately,
and how we’re deploying forces to combat ISIS and conduct humanitarian relief operations.
But people are worried about what’s being referred to as “Mission Creep”,
meaning that our military involvement may snowball into something much larger.
But this name: “Mission Creep”; it just sounds like a great
reality TV show title, doesn’t it? It could show reporters embedded with troops
to find out who is the yucky creep who will try to grab other soldier’s butts
during missions and such, and it will all be captured on camera!
And viewers could
vote for who they thought the Mission Creep would be, and when we actually
found out, viewers who accurately picked the Mission Creep would win some kind
of prize, like a weekend for two in Atlantic City with the Mission Creep, or
something like that, if they wanted it. (You never know what people are going
to want: some women marry serial killers in prison, and recently some violent felon’s
mug shot had people saying he could rob them anytime, etc. So some people might want to date the Mission Creep; you
never know.)
