I know some were offended by the objectification on display during Sophia Vergara’s Emmy’s skit where she stood as an objet d’art on a revolving platform, but she said she should be allowed to be hot and make fun of herself. I thought she was making fun of the scopophilia inherent in the televised objectification of female beauty, and I agree she should be able to do what she likes, even if it didn’t come across as intended for some. But after hearing her defiant explanation, I thought: “Wow, she really puts the ‘I can’ in ‘eye candy’!”*
* Phonetically, anyway…
